Mr. King has over 25 years experience in the financial, accounting and tax fields. Jim has extensive experience in analyzing the financial, accounting and tax aspects of business transactions, and handling federal and state tax audits, structuring acquisitions and dispositions of several companies, foreign joint ventures, and licensing agreements. He started his career in the New York Office of Arthur Andersen & Co. and was an Assistant Treasurer at J.P. Morgan & Co. where he was responsible for all tax matters for Morgan’s securities trading and treasury activities. While the Tax Director of Bertelsmann, Inc., Jim formed a corporate tax department and structured the acquisitions of Doubleday, RCA Music and other U.S. companies.
For 13 years of his corporate career, Mr. King held the position of Vice President & Tax Director of Symbol Technologies, Inc., a billion dollar IT firm that was recently acquired by Motorola, where he had responsibility for compliance with the tax laws of fifteen countries, financial modeling; analysis of accounting and tax issues; and financial due diligence for acquisition candidates. During the last five years, Mr. King has been the managing partner of a CPA firm providing tax and accounting services to a diversified client base.
Mr. King received a BBA in Accounting from BaruchCollege and an MBA with a major in Taxation & Finance from the Baruch Graduate School of Business.
